Eligibility

• Permanent residents of Costa Rica. No age limit for issuance and renewal.
• Dependent children up to their 18th birthday or who are single and reside with the policy holder until their 30th birthday.
• Medical examination is required (the insurer reserves the right to waive the medical examination, based on a declaration of good health and / or evidence presented by the proposed insured.)

Waiting period

• 90 day waiting period.

• No waiting period in case of a medical emergency.

• 30-day waiting period for infectious diseases from the effective date.

• 6 months for: cancer of any type.

• 11 months for: Maternity and complications of maternity.

• 12 months: medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the nose and nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, tonsils and ear; for Hernias of Any Kind, either due to Illness or Accident; for HIV AIDS Treatment; for Organ Transplantation; for all expenses, treatments and procedures related to diseases of the uterus, ovaries, pelvic floor, endometriosis and fibrosis, cysts and/or breast tumors; lithiasis of the gallbladder, bile ducts, kidney and urinary tract; osteoarthritis, spondylosis, herniated disc and any other disease or injury of the spine, shoulder or knee, regardless of whether they occur as a result of an accident or emergency.
