Internship in the area of process management, this internship has represented an unparalleled opportunity to develop critical skills and contribute significantly to the company.
Through his role, he has learned to optimize internal processes, facing challenges and adopting innovative methodologies. Below, Masiel shares his experience with us, from his daily responsibilities to the challenges and learnings he has faced at BMI, highlighting the importance of balance between student and work life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. What are your main responsibilities in this internship?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In the short term, I am dedicated to mapping and mapping each of the activities carried out by collaborators in each area. In the medium and long term, we look for activities in which we are deficient in order to optimize them. Currently, we have the processes mapped in a general way, but then we specify each action and join all the processes. This helps us launch positions on the market by knowing what process each area entails and the skills necessary for each role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Tell us what your initial onboarding process was at the Company?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The onboarding process was very pleasant. The first days we received general training to learn about the objectives, purpose and identity of the Company. We are now in a more extensive onboarding, spending a week in each area and visiting brokers to better understand what is happening in the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Can you describe a recent project you worked on and what your contribution was?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Recently, I worked on lifting the claims process. This project was particular because my mentor, Jos\u00e9 Carlos, needed the information for a specific meeting. At that time, we were not working under a methodology, but now we apply the ISO methodology to make \ufb02ows more efficient in a way that is understandable to external people. I had the challenge of solving the problem with the application that we used with limitations. Later, we found an alternative that works with AI to achieve this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • How do you handle teamwork and collaboration with other departments?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          I have always liked working as a team. In college, we have had many group projects, which helped me understand that all jobs are collaborative and that no one is \u201cbad\u201d for a position. It is important to adapt people according to their abilities and provide them with the necessary tools. At BMI, my role requires being present in every area, which has allowed me to absorb knowledge from my colleagues and receive their support, even when they are busy. Camaraderie and good attitude are always present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • How have you stayed up to date on trends and best practices in managing the processes in your charge?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            My mentor, Jos\u00e9 Carlos, has greatly influenced my learning, recommending books and the ISO methodology for process areas. In addition, I research, read blogs, take courses and use tools such as AI to make work more efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • What challenges have you faced in your role and how have you overcome them?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              The biggest challenge has been managing student and work life. At university, I have very saturated schedules, which made it difficult for other companies to give me space to do my internship. BMI gave me the opportunity to do my internship, understanding that my studies are my priority. Human Talent has been \ufb02exible with my times, allowing me to fulfill my exams and work responsibilities. This has made everything more bearable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • What has been your biggest learning since starting the BMI Internship program?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                The biggest learning has been the importance of being passionate about each activity and learning to balance student and work life. This has allowed me to develop in the professional world, understanding in more detail the importance of each task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                • What advice would you give to future Interns interested in being part of the program?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  I would advise them to be passionate and be curious. That they are motivated to do what they are passionate about and look for opportunities to get closer to the world of work while they study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  • How do you feel about BMI, what has your experience been?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of BMI. It is a very welcoming company and I feel at home, even more relaxed than at university. It is a challenge and a great opportunity to develop myself in the insurance area and discover this new world of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
