Commitment, empathy, and social responsibility are part of the values that BMI has as a company. One of the most tangible examples of the application of these values is their relationship with the Mindo Futures Foundation, an organization they have worked with for more than 7 years to generate change in the lives of girls, boys, and young people in vulnerable situations.

Health, education, and empowerment are the axes of work of Mindo Futures since its foundation in 1972 has been working on different programs to empower the youth of Ecuador and other communities worldwide through programs of nutrition, education, health, and care in cases of disaster and poverty alleviation.

Volunteering and support for fundraising activities

BMI, through the volunteering of its collaborators and sponsorship, has joined the different projects and fundraising activities, such as the annual kickball tournament that takes place in Miami, Florida, and whose purpose is to obtain funds to help low-income people who are part of the Foundation.

Likewise, BMI has been part of the medical mission, traveling to the town of Mindo in Ecuador to volunteer and support the group of doctors, nurses, and dentists who also contribute their time and experience so that this noble cause generates changes in the lives of many girls, boys, and youth.

According to Stephanie Garcia, Marketing Director of BMI, supporting causes that work for the educational development of girls and boys, but above all, that protect the physical and emotional well-being of an entire community, is an honorable task that BMI has decided to support for several years because it is aligned with its mission.

Transforming lives through second chances

BMI has a special commitment and gratitude to this organization because, through its work, the lives of many families in the Mindo community, located in northern Ecuador, have been transformed. Approximately 5,000 people are treated each year during the medical mission, whose patients come from rural areas where primary medical care is not accessible to the majority.

Likewise, through the Miracles Program assistance and resources are provided to 700 students in vulnerable situations at the Mindo School (UEFTE). Another of the projects that generates a great impact is the Puente Program because it offers young people who come from adverse situations the opportunity to have access to a college education, but Mindo Futures offers them a scholarship that allows them to transform their reality and give back to their communities.

"We are very excited to be able to be part of and support year after year a cause that watches over the most important things: health and education," said David Sierra, Executive Vice President of BMI.

This year, BMI celebrates its 50th anniversary together with thousands of families and clients around the world, is the perfect opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to the most vulnerable sectors and to those social causes that generate a positive impact, that transform lives, and that allow the company to reward society for the trust and loyalty of its customers, who for five decades have allowed BMI to bring peace of mind and security to thousands of homes.
