At BMI, for the second consecutive year we joined the FACCI foundation (Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation) and Acropolis Business Mall to support the second day of blood donation for the benefit of Dominican girls and boys who suffer from this disease and are part of the Foundation.
The event took place on February 8. On this occasion we set out to once again fill the lives of these little ones with light and hope, who are generally cared for at the Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital (HIRRC) and other health centers in the city.
The objective of the day was achieved by exceeding the established goal since it was possible to obtain three times the minimum pints of blood required by the foundation. This result fills us with happiness and satisfaction because what is done with love is a guaranteed success.
These types of sessions are always necessary to counteract the disease because in addition to each pint of blood, certain derivatives such as platelets and plasma can be used and directed to three different receptors.
In addition, multiple benefits are obtained, for each donation you can save three lives, your cardiovascular health will improve because blood circulation is stimulated, excess iron in the body will be reduced and you will reduce the risk of suffering from strokes.
The FACCI foundation was established in 2003 in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic by a group of volunteer friends who were committed to developing activities to try to guarantee oncological medical treatments for girls, boys and adolescents with cancer and thus improve their quality of life.
For its part, Acropolis Business Mall is a creation space where work and personal life converge and where BMI Dominican Republic have its headquarter. For that reason, it was the perfect place to carry out this second day of blood donation.
