Hyperconnectivity is a concept that has been very present during the pandemic, we have opened new doors to human relations, the world of work, education, entertainment, etc. We have unlimited information, and thanks to social networks we are connected throughout the day and in real time to local and global events. All this represents a great advance, however, what impact does hyperconnectivity have on our lives?

The misuse and abuse of these tools can cause problems that affect our health. For this reason, it is advisable to take breaks that allow us to dissipate the mind, improve posture and relax our muscles and joints.

Active breaks are simple exercises that can be done at home and will take no more than 10 minutes. You can try these recommendations:

  • Make backward and circular movements of the head, this will help you relax the neck.
  • Stand up and make circular movements with your hips. You can also walk for a few minutes around the house.
  • Make circular movements with your shoulders, from front to back and vice versa.
  • Stretch your arms, opening and closing your fingers for 20 seconds, this will help you relax your fingers.
  • Rest your eyes from the computer, fix your gaze on a distant point and then on a nearby point, doing this exercise will help relax your eyes from the blue light of the devices that causes eye dryness.

With these short exercises you will create a culture of self-care, improving your quality of life, you will also prevent the appearance of headaches, eyestrain, and neck pain, and you will also overcome a sedentary lifestyle. Disconnecting from devices for a few minutes will help you be more efficient and productive.
