WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY: IMPORTANCE AND ORIGIN

Table of Contents:

When we think about how we can contribute to society, ideas related to helping people in need come to mind and who, for one reason or another, are not on equal footing to be able to live peacefully.

Every year a date is celebrated that not many people know about, but it is still more important for that, it is World Blood Donor Day. This day commemorates all those people who without any obligation consider that from time to time it is important to donate blood, for people who need emergency transfusions, whether due to an operation or an accident. This is undoubtedly one of the most solidary, disinterested actions that show that there are still caring people in our society. A reason for which we can be proud and applaud.

This initiative shows us that helping costs nothing and gives us the satisfaction of helping to save a person's life. There is no greater hero than who is part of this.

Below, you can learn a series of interesting facts regarding blood donation, which will make you get into context and discover how this way of helping works:

● Did you know that only 57 countries in the world collect 100% from the world's donor blood supply.

● It is important to underline that 47% of these donations come from high-income countries, which represent less than 19% of the population.

● It must be clear that 112.5 million is the number of donations that are made annually in the world.
