BMI Financial Group, Inc. a leading life, health and travel assistance insurance company in Latin America is excited to announce the addition of Joe Schneider as Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Operations. This hire represents the company’s strong commitment to achieving consistent, profitable growth in the industry and adding high-impact, knowledgeable leaders to its executive team.
Mr. Schneider will be responsible for advancing BMI's corporate growth strategy and will manage all the Company’s international insurance businesses. Likewise, he will lead the Company’s corporate development function, including M&A and strategic partnerships in order to increase and improve the quality of the client portfolio.
Mr. Schneider has a longstanding relationship with BMI, previously acting as an advisor to the Company and then joining the company's board of directors last year. Mr. Schneider has extensive experience as an investment banker for financial institutions, with a specialization in insurance. He was previously at KPMG Corporate Finance in Chicago and Barclays in London.
Additionally, prior to his arrival at BMI, Mr. Schneider served as vice president of enterprise corporate development at American Family Insurance, a Fortune 500 property & casualty as well as life insurer. There he led the company’s M&A and M&A integration functions. Mr. Schneider was also president of American Family's adjacency business, a unique group focused on buying, building, and growing non-insurance businesses that complemented the company's core operations.
Mr. Schneider is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and has an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. He has lived in the United Kingdom, Spain and Chile.
