On Saturday, May 14, the Triple Surf Crown in the Montañita spa (Santa Elena). The championship seeks to promote in children the importance of sports and environmental care.
Roberto 'Pipo' Argenzio, organizer of this tournament, spoke about the goals he seeks to achieve.
For its execution, the support of private companies has been fundamental, and this year BMI Ecuador provided its support to carry out this sixth edition of the sports tournament.
"The idea was born due to the lack of support for the children of our coastal communes," says Pipo, stating that there are thousands of children who do not have places to play sports, especially surfing, when in itself this type of activity allows that young people "grow up away from alcohol and drugs."
Since 2011 this championship has been held where approximately 100 boys participate, who come from different parts of the country.
"The main objective of the Triple Crown of Surfing is to create Ecoguerreros, who thanks to surfing will create an indissoluble relationship with the ocean to defend and protect it," explains Pipo. However, there is also another more collective objective: that the communities benefit economically with the realization of these tournaments.
