In BMI's constant search to promote gender equality and highlight the achievements of women in the business field, our manager Melanie Leiva Saprissa participated in the panel “The Power of Perseverance” organized by the Mujeres Emprendiendo Guatemala network (MEG). ).

MEG's commitment is to support female entrepreneurs, especially those who challenge barriers in industries largely led by men. During the event, the experiences of women and businesswomen were presented who have shown that perseverance is essential, especially in environments with few spaces for women.

“Women often face stereotypes and prejudices, but by persevering and excelling in their roles, they help break those stereotypes and open doors for other women. commented Melanie Leiva, Manager of BMI Guatemala.

The multifaceted ability of women in leadership roles was also highlighted during this panel. It was emphasized that many women are not only successful entrepreneurs, but also hold senior management positions and play a crucial role as mothers, and that balance between professional and personal life requires an extraordinary capacity for firmness and persistence.

Likewise, the importance of establishing limits and delegating responsibly when necessary was discussed. This capability is key to overcoming the unique challenges women face in their leadership and motherhood roles.

The support network, whether at home or at work, was also identified as critical to continued success. In addition, the importance of remembering that being persistent does not imply perfection at all times was highlighted, rather it is about being resilient, learning from experiences and moving forward.

At BMI Guatemala we are proud to celebrate the strength, determination and talent of entrepreneurial women. We firmly believe that these spaces for conversation about the challenges that women face in their leadership roles provide recognition of their capacity and talent, but also put into context an issue that must be prioritized.
